The cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul regulate taxi meter rates. These rates are effective for the entire Twin Cities Metro Area. The taxi meters are based on time and mileage and the rates are as follows:

$2.50 Flag (initial charge)
$2.35 Per mile
$24.00 Per hour waiting time including time lost in traffic delays.
